Project Low Rider Car

Post by Thomas on Fri Nov 13, 2009 11:33 pm

OK this is how it started, I ask one of my car club tech head friends about my next project, making a 1975 Glasshouse Caprice RWD into a FWD, So I don't have to contend with a rear drive shaft, when I fab up a wicked hydraulic suspension. He told me to do a North Star. Now I have a 94 Eldorado in my back yard as well as a 75 Caprice with a 76 clip ( Square head lights with out worrying about smog) I told my wife I would not start this project until after the Holidays, My plan is to severe the front end of the Cadi ( Dash to Radiator) and Hinge it onto the caprice, Hinged at the firewall and 14" Hydraulic cylinders in front of the radiator, The goal is to raise the Body front end (frame in a frame)and then have 8" cylinders in place of the struts and send this thing in the air, not to mention the rear two stage suspension that will place the bottom of the rear bumper about 8' from the ground, using the rear independent suspension &, disc brakes. After frame fab I am going to have to get this V8 running and looking good, my plan is to use the Cadi dash in the Caprice as well as the brake & gas pedle, my guess is that I will be using most of the Original wiring Harness from the dash to the motor. I realize this project is impractical, but I am sure at a car show this will be the one to see, Like my 1st project, any suggestions will be welcomed. Thank you. Thomas
